HIGH SCHOOL HISTORY and LEADERSHIP ACADEMIC CREDIT PROGRAM
High School Students & National Leadership Program Participants nationwide are eligible for college history and leadership elective credits from Adams State College (accredited by the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools)
the road to college credits
Available college recognized courses/credits can be seen at this webpage.

American History students and National Leadership Programs participants are eligible to earn college academic credits while still in high school or in a post-secondary status. Registration is normally accomplished after the fact/after local academic requirements/standards have been successfully met. Thus, students primarily register in arrears of the qualifying academic performance. There is no unique time-limit (cut-off) for registering. Registrations are year round!

These elective leadership and history courses are transferable to any regionally accredited institution of higher learning with the concurrence of their future college/university registrar, admissions officer, or academic advisor. Our credit transfer rate exceeds 99.5%. Nationally recognized leadership programs eligible for these credits include American Legion/Legion Auxiliary Boys and Girls State Citizens, HOBY participants, MOWW participants, JROTC Cadets, and qualified Home Schoolers. New/recommended national leadership programs are under continual review for eligibility. All American History students passing a bona-fide high school level American History course are eligible to participate in the special U.S. History credits associated with the Veterans National Education Program, HIST 179 . Local instructors ( high school, JROTC, qualified organizational instructors/mentors of these programs where appropriate) fill out their required information for the "ASC Instructor of Record", . We provide an easy to use grade roster at this link: ASC-RTG Grade Roster. Course Instructors/Mentors validate, sign, scan and then email their signed grade roster to prior to the end of the semester in which their student is enrolled. Each paid registration will receive an individual Adams State College Transcript.
Tuition cost is $60 per credit (unless otherwise noted, such as in the case of HIST 179 - $80 per credit, which has RTG provided resource materials, automatically sent to each registered student when tuition payment is verified, all at no additional charge).
Our semesters and registration periods are meant to mirror standard programs, while allowing students a maximum period to either complete their local course, and/or to provide their final papers (only in the case of HST 179 for all students/cadets, or for LEAD 120 and ID 179-3 credits for non-cadet participants). The following is the way this program looks at each semester to maximize the benefit of these credits for ALL registrants:
